The Windows version requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. We will keep version 8.80.1 available for those few people still running 32-bit Windows 10.
The Mac version requires macOS 13 (Ventura), 14 (Sonoma), 15 (Sequoia), or 26 (Tahoe) on Intel or Apple Silicon. We will keep earlier Transcribe! versions available for people running earlier versions of macOS.
The Linux version is 64-bit only. We will keep version 8.80 available for people running 32-bit Linux.
It is free to existing users : it will recognise your license key and you shouldn't need to enter it again.

Changes:
- We have updated the version of GStreamer that we use to 1.28.4 (the most recent stable version at this date). This should make it possible to play some video and audio formats that didn't work before.
- We have added a Preference (on the General page) for "Pixel aspect ratio of display". The point is that, depending on your choice of display resolution, many display screens do not have perfectly square pixels. You can now correct for this so that a square video will display as square on screen. Press the Help button on the relevant Prefences page for more info.
- For cropping videos we have added a "Crop mode" on the Crop menu of the Video Viewer. This means you can crop videos without needing to use the <control> or <command> key while dragging the video edge (which doesn't work for some people).
- Various other minor tweaks and bugfixes.
